Based at Kinesys in Hampton, Middlesex and part of the TAIT Group.  We are currently looking for a Quality Assurance and HSE Officer.

Position Purpose

 

The QHSE officer is responsible for supporting the Head of QHSE and local management team in developing, maintaining, and implementing the company Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) Management system.  The QHSE officer will be responsible for facilitating the implementation and Coordination of Quality Assurance Processes, Safe Systems of Work, and encouraging continual improvement within their area of responsibility.  This position provides QHSE guidance and supports the business to maintain and continually improve the QHSE culture and performance, in line with the organisations strategic objectives whilst ensuring the business is compliant with all relevant safety and environmental legislation.

Responsibilities

Main Outcomes of the Position

  • Supports the Head of QHSE in developing and improving QHSE management systems and procedures to facilitate business operations in line with ISO9001, ISO14001, and ISO 45001.
  • Communicates information on the QHSE management system throughout the organisation and promotes Quality improvement and HSE awareness through various communication channels.
  • Prepare QHSE documentation for clients/projects as per the requirements in consultation with projects/operations teams.
  • Develops, implements, and encourages the behavioural based safety culture in the organisation through collaboration and teamwork.
  • Ensures regular workplace inspections are undertaken and corrective actions are identified.
  • Ensures that corrective actions are followed up and there is a timely closing of actions through coordination with multiple departments,
  • Provides local support to line managers.
  • Facilitate support productive Quality Review and Safety committee meetings.
  • Ensure statutory obligations are met on all facilities related matters inclusive of LOLER / PUWER.
  • Management of business systems such as Epicor NCR, Safety Media, COSHH 365 and Legislation Update service (LUS)
  • Ensures thorough QHSE induction for all new employees.
  • Manage occupational health.

Key responsibilities

  • Assists the development and maintenance of Department Quality Workflows and Procedures.
  • Carry out risk assessments and support departments on how best to manage risks.
  • Assist in the management of the company’s NCR register.
  • Facilitate the development and delivery of toolbox talks and QHSE awareness materials.
  • Be a central point of contact for QHSE related queries.
  • Support other departments to outline QHSE operational procedures.
  • Carry out regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented.
  • Ensure working practices are safe and comply with legislation.
  • Assist and develop in-house training with managers and employees about QHSE topics.
  • Using Safety media keep records of inspection findings and produce reports that suggest improvements.
  • Record incidents and accidents and produce statistics for managers and the Head of QHSE.
  • Keep up to date with new legislation and maintain a working knowledge of all Health and Safety Executive (HSE) legislation and any developments that affect the industry.
  • Produce management reports and newsletters.
  • Facilitate the completion of COSHH risk assessments.
  • Manage and organise the safe disposal of hazardous substances, e.g., asbestos.
  • Advise on a range of specialist areas related to Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental.
  • Act as a point of contact for regulatory bodies at the Hampton site.

Qualifications

Foundation / Position Requirements:

  • Nebosh General Level 3 or equivalent
  • Educated to at least GCSE level (or equivalent) with minimum C Grade achievement in English and Math’s; and all-round good education.
  • Working knowledge of either one of ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO 45001, Risk Assessment and COSHH
  • Proven Quality Assurance experience and / or Quality Management qualifications are highly desirable
  • Proven experience in a Quality, Safety, or Environmental role in manufacturing
  • Right to work in the UK, possess UK driving license.
