The Talent Acquisition Specialist nurtures a healthy and productive work environment by developing and supporting People function initiatives. This role understands that the key to a successful organization is a well-supported and fulfilled team. Talent Acquisition Specialist plays a key part in fostering an inclusive culture and works to ensure that all policies, programs, and initiatives promote belonging and optimize performance.

 

This role will have responsibility for the development and implementation of new and innovative talent acquisition strategies. Talent Acquisition Specialist will build processes and enhance systems necessary to attract, select and retain top talent.

Responsibilities

Main Outcomes of the Position

  • Recruiting:
    • Builds a great candidate and hiring manager experience during the recruitment process. Communicates consistently and openly with hiring managers, human resources advisors, and candidates throughout the recruitment process to ensure all constituents are updated.
    • Consistently builds recruiting reports, data & analytics which have significant influence on acquisition
    • Fosters local relationships with schools & businesses and enhances TAIT network by attending various local events
    • Share information on trends in talent acquisition with management and recommends ideas and strategies related to recruitment that will contribute to the long-range growth of the TAIT
  • Advising:
    • Administers the functions of the holistic employment lifecycle including aspects of recruitment, onboarding, talent development, performance management, and crisis mitigation
    • Each HR Advisor will have a center of excellence or concentration that they may support the Advising team with, but all Advisors will work across the employment lifecycle
    • Serves as advisor and counsel for managers and team members in assigned areas in relationship management
    • Participates in the development of team retention strategies and coordinates engagement activities, programs, and initiatives

 

Expectations:

  • Develop and drive recruitment strategies including sourcing, pipeline building, candidate experience, intern placement
  • Identify, recommend, and develop new approaches, policies and procedures that will bolster organizational culture and improve department functionality/capability
  • Interpret, analyze, and apply human resources policies and procedures and provide recommendations
  • Conducts candidate screening interviews to ensure they are a fit for role and culture
  • Manages, prioritizes, and closes searches against an agreed timeline and is responsible for status reporting on open roles
  • Manage database of job outlines and scorecards with the support of the HR team and hiring managers
  • Manages vendor relationships including ATS system (currently iCims), LinkedIn, and Indeed
  • Ensures compliance with local employment laws and regulations, and company policies.
  • Takes on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field, or relevant working experience.
  • 2-5 years of experience in a human resources function with progressive responsibility
    • Experience in full cycle recruitment
    • Experience in manufacturing and/or engineering environments a plus
    • Certified in psychometric testing an advantage.
