Group Lead – Central Services Shop

Position Purpose:
The Central Services Group Lead is responsible for overseeing, planning, and supervising the daily activities of
the Machine Shop operators and Production Associates within their group. The Central Services Group Lead
will review the priorities/needs for all daily work requirements and based on capacity, demand, and critical
completion date and times. This is a second shift position.

  • Accurate feedback and information on scheduled and completed work status
  • Ability to forecast, plan, and execute labor and task goals for a project
  • Maintain accurate information flow to Ops Managers and SR leadership
  • Maintaining task and production goals on or under budget and delivering on time
  • Support and participate in the plant’s safety process
  • Overall management and direction of the team members within their group
  • Coordinating the daily schedules for team members
  • Ensuring TAIT’s 5 standards of care are coordinated into all daily activities within the groups
  • Safety, Quality, Team, Schedule, and Cost
  • Creating training development programs and disciplines in:
  • Job ownership and build prioritization
  • Quality and standardization build methods across fabrication
  • Welding and fabrication processes
  • Cross functional employee training
  • Fabrication skill set database (help to create and maintain)
  • Responsible for all direct employee’s time management, reviews, training, and corrective actions
  • Responsible for ensuring that all work performed by employees is done safely, efficiently, and accurately.
  • Perform other various job functions as needed
  • Participate in Staffing evaluations



Foundation  / Position Requirements: Skills, experience, certifications

  • 4-8 years relevant Machine shop or related work experience
  • Extensive manufacturing experience with various materials
  • Computer proficiency Slack, Epicor, Box, Outlook, Microsoft products, CNC List and AutoCAD
  • Advanced Mechanical aptitude and ability to trouble shoot
  • Advanced skills in MIG, TIG, FCAW welding procedures
  • Proficient with manual machine shop equipment: mills, saws, lathes
  • Ability to coach, mentor and lead team members
