Overview

This position is responsible for the ongoing design and continued improvement of a complex entertainment automation system used for the world’s most exciting live experiences. Focus will be on the identification, definition, design & documentation of the user experience through storyboards, wireframes, simple prototypes, and user testing. This position will contribute to the design vision and maintenance of all software user experiences and will work closely with the software development team in the creation of all new features.

  • Contributes to the enhancement and creation of UX patterns throughout the application
  • Accustomed to articulating the principles that drive UI designs and best practices and how they fit into the overall design architecture
  • Collaborate with product management and software development to rapidly develop UI assets, wireframes, user journey maps and interactive prototypes
  • Understands the software agile process and the tools to support it

Preferred:  

 

  • Experience in designing complex “professional tools” type applications
  • Enthusiastic about company and designing company products
  • Experience in designing on the Windows platform and mobile applications
  • Experience using and implementing UI animations to improve user comprehension
  • Demonstrated understanding of "design thinking" and experience solving complex problems in a highly user-centric way
  • Experience with product usability testing and research
  • Experience in automation environments, from software to general safety practices
  • Understanding of entertainment/theater operations (stage directions, calling cues, etc.)

Qualifications

  • Digital UX/UI design experience (design degree or equivalent with 1-3+ years of experience)
  • Impressive design portfolio
  • Strong experience in designing and prototyping with Sketch
  • Familiarity with cloud-based collaboration platforms like InVision and Atlassian
  • Willingness to travel occasionally (1-6 times per year)
