Based at Brilliant Stages in Wakefield, West Yorkshire and part of the TAIT Group.  We are currently looking for a Stores manager

The Stores Manager plays a vital role in the supply chain process, you will manage people, processes, and systems to ensure that goods are received and stored correctly, before ensuring their smooth flow through the manufacturing process.

A key element of this position will be to understand in detail, the daily/weekly production schedules, able to spot upcoming material or part availability issues that will hinder the team’s ability to achieve our goals.

Essential duties include coordinating parts and consumables for daily operations, maintaining rigid stock control, liaising with procurement to order consumables and material, preventing excess stock, actioning non-usable items and waste materials, and assisting in solving inconsistencies between inventory and stock records. Ensures inventory management systems are regularly updated to provide ‘live’ stock information for the wider team.


Other essential duties include interfacing with other departments to solve problems, observing processes that support the wider business, having an active role in site safety, and ensuring that, with an emphasis collaboration and teamwork, we always strive to execute projects to the highest possible standards.


Main Outcomes of the Position

  • Complete work allocated to company standards.
  • Receive parts, materials, and consumables, recording and storing in line with company traceability standards.
  • Maintain security and integrity of all materials and systems.
  • Maintain on time delivery of required parts, materials, and consumables to scheduled department/delivery dates.
  • Complete and itemised audit trail of all despatches for outsourcing activities and selected small projects.
  • Work with other departments to problem solve.
  • Use of individual training platform will facilitate personal growth.
  • Ensures that the working environment is safe, and housekeeping is kept to a high standard.


Key responsibilities/Decision making authority:

  • Work within & according to health & safety guidelines to maintain personal and others safety.
  • Coordinate and monitor the efficient and correct receipt, storage, and issuing of goods.
  • Ensure the company’s automated and computerised systems are used and updated where necessary.
  • Evaluate materials/parts etc, before being issued for activities, conform to quality checks. Report via NCR if any issues.
  • Keep stock control systems up to date and make sure inventories are accurate.
  • Provide a knowledgeable and approachable point of contact for the wider team to flag up supply chain issues.
  • Bring missing material and part queries raised by manufacturing to a resolution.
  • Maintain clean & safe working environment.
  • Comply with clock procedures.
  • Be flexible to perform duties throughout other departments.
  • Engage in personal development programs/Training.
  • Operate within individual & team environment maintaining work ethics individually and alongside other team members.
  • Communication between line manager/colleagues.


  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a stores/stock control position.
  • Must have excellent communication skills.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment cordially and effectively.
  • Able to work within company Health & Safety guidelines
