Based in either London, Haverhill or Europe, the Site Manager will be responsible for ensuring the smooth on-site delivery and handover of Permanent Installation projects being managed by TAIT.

Responsibilities

Working with the Project Manager, the Site Manager has the responsibility for managing and coordinating the site installation phase of permanent installation projects whether these are executed by an internal or sub-contracted team. Their focus will be on ensuring the projects have the correct resources and personnel to execute the installation on time and on budget. Working closely with off-site and on-site teams, the Site Manager will ensure all equipment is properly prepared and tested prior to shipping, and provide leadership for the installation phase of high quality, best-in-class permanent installations while managing the commercial/contractual requirements during the installation phase

 

  • Liaise with Project Managers and take responsibility for the management of the site installation phase of projects and ensure that they are managed and executed in a timely, cost-efficient and professional manner.
  • Ensure site attendance and practices are appropriate and fully meet the contractual and site requirements and regulations for each project’s requirements.
  • Ensure correct health and safety and ISO procedures are followed at all times.
  • Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, streamline work processes and work cooperatively and jointly to provide seamless client service for both internal and external clients.
  • Ensure that on-site Project Roles are clearly identified and assigned as required for all projects.
  • To understand and draw up a safe and suitable installation methodology with site teams and client representatives.
  • Ensure each project has an installation plan in place, well in advance of the installation beginning.
  • Verify that the site operational phase of the project from ex-works delivery by TAIT through to client handover of the project has been budgeted correctly and work with the Senior Project Manager to correct if required.
  • Revise costs in line with client request for changes and communicate changes to affected parties internally and externally. Ensure changes are appropriately reflected in client charges.
  • Identify and drive cost savings where possible to minimise all costs directly associated with the site installation phase of the projects.
  • Ensure that appropriate Risk Assessment and Method Statements are being produced, stored and followed for every site.
  • Ensure appropriate site reports are produced on-site and ensure that these are appropriately monitored and stored, and any reported information reaches the correct teams.
  • Attend regular client site co-ordination meetings.
  • Maintain the site installation schedule, advise the Senior Project Manager if amendments are required.
  • Ensure clear dialogue is maintained with the client during the installation phase, including ensuring any client-side commitments are adhered to.
  • Inspect and sign off any works done by a subcontractor and/or 3rd party.
  • Review and approve installation equipment needs and methods used are in line with company standards.
  • Develop, support and motivate both direct reports and wider teams, lead by example with a positive culture in line with company values.
  • Organise contacts with local site suppliers for items such as plant hire, consumable supplies and local labour.
  • Review the local area of sites for accommodation, meals and sustenance, any locally applicable laws and/or culture that may be relevant to visiting workers.
  • Ensure that site labour is also included at factory builds and testing.
  • Coordinate shipping and transport plans.
  • Coordinate travel plans with site teams

Qualifications

  • Educated to at least ‘A’ Level standard
  • Good understanding of theatre or engineering installation methods.
  • Understanding of Health and Safety best practices.
  • Good IT skills
  • Ability to work with clients and manage client expectations and requirements.
  • Ability to lead an installation team.
  • Ability to manage in a construction environment
  • Technical skills relevant to the projects.
  • Excellent organisational, planning and time management skills.
  • Great attention to detail
  • Good communication and negotiation skills.
