Purpose:

 

To support the Electrical Design team focused on the design and manufacturing processes with the electrical design and production departments using Eplan. It is essential that the holder of this position is very proficient in the high-level functions provided by the software in order to lead the development of effective and efficient tools to improve productivity.

IT’s diverse group of clients include Taylor Swift, Cirque Du Soleil, The Metropolitan Opera House, NASA, National Geographic, Beyoncé and The Olympics.

Experience with EPlan P8 and Pro Panel is a must have.

 

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

 

  • Customize and organize the software system to continuously improve the electrical design and production tools to meet development objectives using the advanced functions of the CAE tool.
  • Maintain the integrity and quality of the main Eplan Parts Database including creating new parts as required.
  • Ensure all Eplan users are working in the same way through maintaining written procedures, dialogue and mentoring.
  • Keep users up to date on all related software matters.
  • Ensure that all methodologies comply to the necessary engineering and documentation standards.
  • Establish and monitor development plans and priorities.
  • Identify new opportunities to improve departmental processes and make costed recommendations on how to achieve them.
  • Identify bugs in the software and report to Eplan and the design team.
  • Test new versions of Eplan to evaluate new functions and coach designers in their use.
  • Organize the main file server.
  • Consult with team members to resolve issues.
  • Maintain records of all activities and results in CAE project database.
  • Support the requirements of the production team through customized reports and the generation of manufacturing data direct from schematic projects.
  • Resolve issues relating to manufacturing through improved processes - including feeding back to the design process if appropriate.
  • Evaluate production part requests from an overall cost perspective including the impact on design time and whether additional equipment or software is required.

 

Qualifications

Degree in ICT / Electrical Engineering

Excellent understanding of CAD, CAE, and CAM tools.

Electrical standards and regulations

Familiarity with electrical components

IT/ICT

MS SQL Database

5-10 years Control cabinet design/manufacture
