  • Overview

    Acting as a member of the Permanent Install (Fixed Install) Projects team, primarily participating in the exploratory, development, and bidding phases of a potential project, the Project Designer-PI will evaluate project specifications to help establish overall system designs and determine appropriate technical solutions at the outset of a project. This role will be required to collaborate with TAIT’s Subject Matter Experts (SME), both in the areas of Mechanical and Controls/Electrical design.

    Responsibilities

    • Understanding of processes for Design (Engineering, Detailing, and Kitting), Machining (in-house and outsourced), and Fabrication.
    • Read and breakdown Project Scopes and Requirements within department and outside department.
    • Generate and Extrapolate data for both Elements and Kit lists for projects.
    • Facilitate and create standard design for both Elements and Kit lists.
    • Facilitate and guide solutions with Design and Engineering teams developing concept processes
    • Assist with cost estimation to present to Client for bid proposals.
    • Develop materials (Technical Narratives, Facility Layouts, Installation Method, Basis of Design) for Client proposals.
    • Assist Project Manager in moving from Bid phase to Manufacturing/Production phase.
    • Ability to understand and communicate effectively from both a Mechanical and Controls Integration view.
    • Ability to develop and facilitate solutions within varying facility interfaces and layouts.
    • Participate in site surveys to gather information on equipment and system layouts

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Entertainment Technology, Project Management, Engineering or similar area of focus OR 5 years of Relevant Work Experience within Entertainment Industry
    • AutoCAD experience
    • Ability to travel to Client sites as needed
    • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
