    Responsibilities

    You will be responsible for operating a variety of machines to produce or repair precision parts, using both manual and automated equipment and accurate measurements.

     

    Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

     

    • Able to read engineering drawings and ensure implementation of the specification
    • Set up and operate basic or specialised machine tools
    • To operate, with minimum supervision, a variety of machines
    • Take measurements and mark material for cutting or shaping
    • Maintain a clean and organised work area
    • Perform routine machine maintenance and repair minor damages.

    Educational Attainment

    A good all-round general education;

    Good numeracy and mechanical skills.

    Possess an NVQ or CSCS certification.

    Knowledge Required

    Knowledge of mechanics;

    A working knowledge of a wide range of equipment and its application.

    Ability to work with a variety of materials

     

    Experience Required

    Time served

    Experience of working in the stage and/or spectaculars industry;

    Forklift truck and overhead crane experience; and

    experience with stainless steel/aluminium would be advantageous.

    General Intelligence

    Computer literate;

    Understanding numerical and mathematical calculations and data.

     

    Skills and Aptitudes Required

    Working unsupervised;

    Ability to read technical drawings;

    Good communication skills (verbal and written);

    Effective time and project management skills;

    Adherence to health and safety policies.

    Willingness to take on challenges

    Interests

    Developing knowledge of the role.

    Entertainment industry.

    Confidence to work independently or as part of a team; and
