    We are looking for a Materials Handler to ensure materials are properly routed, from point of collection to delivery of materials within and outside the company.


    You will be working under general supervision on a wide range of assignments that require a substantial knowledge of mechanical engineering.


    Core Responsibility


    The Materials Handler has a thorough knowledge of the basic processes and procedures of “Goods in and Goods Out”, but is also expected to use judgment in resolving issues or recommending solutions.


    The ability to maintain records and systems on material flow, and stock control is imperative for this role in order to monitor flow of materials and parts between departments to potentially expedite parts to remedy shortage problems.


    Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:


    • To organise and collate materials and parts for various projects in preparation for fabrication, building or assembly.
    • To ensure that bottlenecks and potential snags are identified and reported, in order to procure parts and assemblies in sufficient time to meet project deadlines.
    • To ensure safe systems of work at all times and to follow health and safety regulations.
    • To assist with ad-hoc tasks in the workshop as instructed by Department Managers.

    Educational Attainment

    Time served Advanced Apprenticeship or equivalent relevant experience within a similar environment.


    CSCS qualification

    Knowledge Required

    Ability to read detailed drawings and orders.

    Knowledge of manufacturing principles and mechanical specifications to support facilities competencies – i.e. metal cutting, welding, machining, etc.

    Experience of working in the stage and/or spectaculars industry; Forklift truck and Overhead crane experience


    Experience Required

    Experience in a practical / workshop / materials handler role, ideally in a be-spoke manufacturing product environment with a bias to fabrication.

    Knowledge of manufacturing principles and specifications to support facilities competencies – i.e. metal cutting, welding, etc.

    General Intelligence

    A good all-round general education.

    Knowledge of Health and Safety systems (e.g. ISO9001)

    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
