You will be responsible for welding and fabricating metal assemblies and weldments for manufacturing purposes. In your role you will plan and organise the assembly/fabrication from start to finish, ensuring it is manufactured within time frames set and to a high standard.
You will predominantly work with mild steel but there may be the opportunity to work with different metals such as aluminium or stainless steel etc. for bespoke fabrications, in doing so you will make use of welding and cutting equipment, hand tools, techniques etc. to fabricate products. You will rely on specifications, verbal instructions, and technical drawings/advice for manufacture.

A good all-round general education; and
Good numeracy and mechanical skills.
Time served apprenticeship; and
Possess an NVQ or CSCS certification.
Knowledge of welding; and
A working knowledge of a wide range of techniques, equipment and the associated applications to maximise effective production of fabrications.
Ability to work with a variety of materials.
Proven experience in general fabrication in mild steel.
Experience of working in the stage and/or spectaculars industry;
Forklift truck and overhead crane experience; and
Experience with stainless steel/aluminium would be advantageous.
Computer literate; and
Understanding of numerical and mathematical calculations and data.
