    This position is responsible for identifying, influencing and driving change across TAIT’s supply chain. This individual must create and foster high level engagements internal and external to TAIT to drive change in their area(s) and should have a deep understanding of specific commodities and the effect of market/industry influences and changes.   

    Responsibilities

    • Develops project / commodity strategies to optimize quality, cost, and supply to support business goals.
      • Achieve stakeholder buy-in to the sourcing strategy
      • Drive cross-functional participation in major commodity projects
    • Develop a strategic supply base to support the project / commodity strategy objectives.
    • Implements strategic plans to:
      • Select supply base including new product development, product changes and resourcing of suppliers
      • Negotiate and execute design and development agreements as well as manufacturing service agreements
      • Manage supplier relationships including leading business reviews
      • Develop efficient fulfillment and supply processes to lower landed costs
    • Develop annual financial savings and measure performance to individual goals
      • Continuously generate cost savings ideas to support Plan
      • Utilize project management skills to achieve cost savings
    • Effectively communicate status of projects and commodity activities to key stakeholders
    • Develop cost modeling strategies to identify “should cost” methodologies
      • Utilization for supplier negotiation and project forecasting / bidding phase

    Qualifications

    • Degree: BS/BA Degree, MBA preferred
    • 7 -10 years progressive sourcing / procurement experience required
    • Mechanical engineering / manufacturing background preferred
    • Ability to develop, communicate and implement project management plans throughout all levels in an organization. Ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
    • Ability to troubleshoot, identify the root cause of, and develop and implement effective solutions to problems.
    • Ability to utilize lean manufacturing principles and techniques
