    The Strategic Sourcing Analyst is responsible for sourcing complex components, assemblies, finished goods, and services for the development and release of larger scale projects.  Reporting into the Strategic Sourcing Manager, this role provides support and customer service to intercompany teams while maintaining compliance with company procedures and industry regulations. The ideal candidate for this position will be highly motivated to grow within the organization in the future, thrive on an environment of change, creativity and accountability, and can continuously improve service levels to all customers, both internal and client based.


    This individual will be responsible for sourcing, tracking, and expediting orders to meet aggressive product launch and production timelines. In addition, the Strategic Sourcing Analyst will help maintain current best practices and lead the development of new processes within the department to find greater efficiencies. This position will act as both analyst and lead negotiator for both internal and supplier-facing projects.


    • Identify, analyze, and drive major cost improvement projects for both direct and indirect spend and across multiple commodities at both the site and company levels
    • Managing the component qualification process with strategic suppliers and setting up sustainable strategic supply relationships for transfer to our manufacturing facilities
    • Evaluating potential suppliers based on capabilities, costs, expertise, and other strategic factors
    • Identify and develop mitigation plans to address risk to supply chain
    • Work hand in hand with designers and engineers to source complex/custom components and subassemblies for use in cutting edge products
    • Represent sourcing/procurement on major project handoffs/kickoffs and work with project team to drive on-time and on-cost deliverables.
    • Collaborate with various department representatives including design & engineering, quality, business development and manufacturing
    • Lead cross functional teams on large projects to generate formal RFP/RFQs, Make vs. Buy and supplier selection analyses
    • Lead departmental efforts to negotiate and implement strategic and project specific supply agreements where needed
    • Perform processing of purchase orders for non-recurring transactions and to satisfy project specific demands
    • Support other critical business efforts as required


    • Bachelor’s degree in related field
    • 5-7+ years’ experience in Strategic Sourcing, Purchasing, and/or Operations
    • Must possess leadership qualities as well as ability to influence stakeholders
    • Experience negotiating complex supply and development agreements
    • Strong analytical and organizational skills
    • The ability to work effectively and implement solutions on a strict timeline in a cross functional team environment
    • Must demonstrate strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
    • Expert level knowledge of Microsoft Excel preferred (Pivot Tables, Macros, etc)
    • Must be proficient in all Microsoft Office Applications
    • ERP/MRP system experience required (Epicor preferred)
    • Must be able to travel to supplier sites when needed (<25% travel; domestic and international)
