  • Overview

The TAIT group delivers outstanding engineering solutions to the entertainment industry, designing and installing equipment and machinery for the world’s most prestigious venues and touring shows across the globe. We design, manufacture, install and maintain stage engineering and stage rigging equipment to venues and provide rental equipment and bespoke set pieces to many of the “A” list music tours. We create a wide range of standard and special-purpose machinery including power flying systems, individual or special purpose hoists, stage floors, lifting platforms, revolving stages, wagons, special effects and bespoke automation. This encompasses many disciplines including static and moving structures, and mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic drive trains, closely integrated with electrical and control systems.

Work is project-based and, whilst focussed on specialised machinery and fabrications primarily for the entertainment technology industry, draws on mainstream engineering principles and practices. Our combination of design and manufacture underpins our ability to deliver unique equipment for permanent venue-based installations as well as short- and long-running shows, often in short lead-times.

    • Preparation of engineering concepts to deliver a viable solution to a wide variety of client requirements for indoor and outdoor static and dynamic installations.
    • Development and submission of detailed mechanical engineering design and subsequent manufacture of turnkey solutions and products – primarily for the entertainment industry.
    • Support business development, installation, and service teams.

     Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

    • To define bespoke solutions based on sound engineering principles to challenging engineering problems referencing the company’s prior-art, to meet the specific requirements of diverse project-based applications.
    • Understanding the underlying physics of complex problems and carry out appropriate calculations to analyse and validate solutions.
    • Estimate the likely cost to design, develop, manufacture and supply solutions and hence support our sales and engineering teams.
    • Create and manage feasible programme schedules.
    • Manage internal and third party design and development resource to mitigate project risk and guarantee timely delivery of World Class engineering.
