  • Overview

    This position is responsible for establishing, reviewing, and maintaining the master production schedule in alignment with Sales, Inventory, Procurement, Assets and Operations.  Establishing the master schedule will involve working closely with operations leadership, project management, production control and others to coordinate manufacturing plans that achieve the company objectives relative to customer service, efficient resource/capacity utilization and inventory investment.  Overall responsibility for the analysis and planning of demand and capacities to achieve the most profitable throughput of company assets.

    • Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple disciplines with internal and external resources.
    • Strong analytical capabilities, with a basic understanding of statistical analysis techniques is required.
    • Ability to develop master planning system and tools for job shop environment.
    • Data access/retrieval skills with extensive experience in data analysis, data manipulation using MS Excel, ERP systems and other tools as needed.
    • Translate the monthly Sales, Inventory and Operations plan by product family to a detailed weekly master production schedule (MPS) with a 1 t 3 month planning horizon into the ERP for weekly MRP generation.
    • Incorporate inter-company demand and backlog into Sales, Inventory and Operations supply planning process to ensure capacity and resources are available to meet demand requirements.
    • Create and publish daily/weekly/monthly factory schedule adherence, capacity reports.
    • Identification and resolution of Constraints, Capacity and Resource & Material.
    • Establish, develop reports for, and improve KPIs related to delivery performance.
    • Responsible to drive continuous process improvement; strives to improve efficiency, and challenge processes where a more favorable alternative may be available.
    • Generate timely management of exception messages by using the ERP system.
    • Maintain data integrity of ERP planning parameters. Parameters such as lead times, lot sizes, safety stocks, delivery times, and order file data for all master scheduled items.


    • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering or related discipline is required.
    • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in analyzing data relating to product forecasting, master scheduling, or shipment forecasting is needed.
    • Must have prior experience in the following areas:  rate-based or flow line (non-MRP); job shop manufacturing environments; operations, inventory management, MRP and lean manufacturing processes; visual management systems.
    • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
    • Proven leadership ability with prior experience leading a team and managing the requirements of others.
