Job Title: Mechanical Integrator

Reports to: Operations Support Manager


Basic Scope/Purpose:



The position of the Mechanical Integrator is an exempt (salaried) position, and is responsible for providing day-to-day assembly, testing and delivery/installation of TAIT elements and projects.


The Mechanical Integration group is involved with the manufacture and delivery of Rock & Roll Tours, Theater Shows, Exhibits, Kinetic displays, and Corporate Events, globally. As such, the group is integral to the overall manufacturing and deployment of the mechanical aspects of advancing shows from raw materials to an installed Finished Good in the field. This role will provide the activities in the shop and affiliate facilities and at event venues to achieve this goal, including creating documentation, articles and artifacts, training of other resources, and coaching in troubleshooting and creating mechanical devices. Technical proficiencies for this role include, but are not limited to, the installation, maintenance and repair of; rigs/rigging, hoists, winches, mechanical motion items and staging/scenery construction, often with techniques requiring proficiency in welding.


The position is located in Lititz, PA. The position will have a considerable amount of global business travel associated with it.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities*:

  • Final assembly and test of TAIT mechanical elements and projects for delivery in the field
  • On occasion, supply a Support & Services role to assist in the maintenance and overall well-being of customers on the phone, in email, and in the field
  • Possesses and maintains an SME-level (subject matter expert) in one or more integration-related technical disciplines (i.e. Rigging, Staging, Motion, welding, carpentry, metal work, etc.)
  • Regularly contributes new information, troubleshooting techniques and guidance to the company Knowledge Base.
  • Actively seeks to improve their individual performance as well as making suggestions to TAIT’s performance overall
  • Establishes and cultivates good relations with CLIENTS
  • Establishes and cultivates good relationships with stagehands, electricians, ironworkers, project managers, and other personnel
  • Promotes and contributes to internal standards and processes
  • Has and maintains a valid Driver’s License for their applicable state of residence
  • Has (or can obtain) a valid US Passport at time of hiring
  • Has an adequate credit profile to obtain and maintain a company credit card per the policies outlined by TAIT Finance & Accounting
  • Good oral and written communication skills as well as the ability to handle changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Should be well-organized with a good attention to detail
  • Other duties as assigned by management


Education and Experience:

  • High school graduate with a certificate from an accredited applicable trade school, or equivalent, demonstrable practical experience. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years’ hands-on experience with documented progressive responsibility in a technical or mechanical technician role.
  • Demonstrated skills in handling a fast-paced environment with conflicting priorities and critical deadlines.
  • Aptitude to achieve and maintain certifications from OSHA, IRATA, SPRAT, and ETCP (and the like), as required, depending on individual’s role in the department.
  • Experience in an entertainment, theatrical or comparable setting required.
  • Multilingual a plus; Spanish, Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, and Quebecoise French especially.
  • Experience with rigging, winches, hoists, and lifting loads / equipment is a plus.
  • Experience with reading staging / mechanical drawings, hydraulic prints, and electrical schematics is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Epicor is a plus.
