POSITION MISSION: 

Navigator is taking it to the next level.  Every element of your software engineering and architectural experience will be leveraged in this role. Working with the Navigator team, the Director of Software Engineering will be responsible for:

Responsibilities

POSITION OUTCOMES:

  • Manage and grow a software engineering team to innovate and maintain our software platform for live entertainment
  • Contributes to the overall technical architecture and software design
  • Act as Scrum Master role for one or more agile teams
  • Work with finance team to manage engineering team budget
  • Manage contractor and outsourcing relationships
  • Regularly interact with executive management to align with business strategy and communicate technical opportunities for current and future product releases

POSITION COMPETENCIES:

Critical:

  • 10+ years leadership position within a software development organization
  • Experience in a software development start up business environment
  • Technologies: C/C++, HTML, XML, XSLT, Java, OLE, ActiveX, VB, C#.NET, OOP, Assembly (TI 320Cxx, Intel 80x86 16, 32 and 64 bit, 8051, Motorola 6502, Power PC), BASIC, Java
  • Development Environments: Microsoft Visual Studio, MASM, VB, Windows DDK, SDK, WDK, Intel 8051, TI TMS320 DSP, IntelliJ, Eclipse, Gnu Tools, Windows, Linux, AIX, Solaris Sun Studio
  • Development Targets: Windows Native and CLR Applications, Web Applications, Network Client/Server Applications, Windows Kernel Drivers, Linux system software and loadable kernel modules, Windows CE/embedded, numerous embedded systems with custom hardware.

Qualifications

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS or MS in Computer Science or Engineering
  • 10+ years in embedded software development, 5+ years in a lead role
  • Deep Low-level embedded software development and/or firmware engineering experience
  • Establish and maintain a positive working environment conducive to individual style, quality, creativity and teamwork
  • Experience in the following areas: Mechanical controls, robotic controls, planning, automation, sensors
  • Background in hands-on, software development; including requirements, design, coding, debugging and test.
  • Experience with software development best practices including Agile, Scrum, TDD and Continuous Integration
  • Ability to travel 10%
