    To develop, maintain and protect all H&S standards within the Company, whilst ensuring all representatives of the company comply with all safety legislation, policies and practices.



    • Carry out risk and COSH assessments and consider how risks could be reduced;

    • Assist with the production of method statements; sign off all method statements and ensure they are correctly recorded filed and issued;
    • Outline safe operational procedures which identify and take into account all relevant hazards;
    • Carry out regular site inspections at all UK work premises to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented;
    • Ensure working practices at all work sites (including third party sites) are safe and compliant with legislation;
    • Keep records of inspection findings and produce reports that suggest improvements, ensure safety critical issues are acted on  in a timely fashion;
    • Record incidents and accidents and produce statistics for managers;
    • Keep up to date with new legislation and maintain a working knowledge of all Health and Safety Executive (HSE) legislation and any developments that affect our industry;
    • Produce management reports, newsletters and bulletins, and monitor the H&S email;
    • Manage and organise the safe disposal of hazardous substances, e.g. asbestos;
    • Advise on a range of specialist areas, e.g. fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise, safeguarding machinery manual handling and occupational diseases;
    • Ensure continual compliance for all aspects of the ISO Standards 9001 & 14001;
    • Organise and facilitate all internal and external H&S Training and update Skills Matrix as appropriate;
    • Organise ,chair, report and progress actions and agenda from period H&S meetings at Neasden and Haverhill;
    • Organise regular H&S meetings with project managers to discuss each project and ensure all appropriate steps are being taken to ensure H&S requirements are being met;
    • Review and update all internal policies, procedures and strategies; and carry out special projects where required;
    • Be a general point of contact for all staff relating to any H&S questions;
    • Carry out engineering inspections on lifting machines/accessories to LOLER Regulations; and
    • Produce CAPEX justification on benefits and costs of suggested improvements.


    Person Specification:





    Educational Attainment

    NEBOSH Diploma/NVQ level 5 equivalent;

    Educated to at least GCSE level (or equivalent) with minimum C Grade achieved in English and Maths; and

    All round good education.

    HNC / HND in H&S or relevant field; and

    2:2 Degree or equivalent in Health and Safety, Risk Management, Engineering, or relevant fields.

    Knowledge Required

    Working knowledge of H&S in the work place, RAMS & COSH.

    ISO Standards, including auditing (9001, 14001, 18001).

    Experience Required

    Proven experience in a H&S role, ideally in a manufacturing environment.

    Experience of working in an H&S; and/or worked within the Entertainment/Events. sector.

    General Intelligence
